Miss You

Isn't this little guy just the cutest! I followed the sketch from Amy R's Friday sketches, unfortunately it is from last Friday, so if you go there today you will find a new sketch for you to try! I have her link on my side bar she has the coolest blog, and I love her Friday sketch challenges. My cute turtle guy is from whipper snapper and my sentiment is from studio G clear stamps.

If you click on the light gray words in the first sentence you will be taken to the link where you can see the list of wonderfully talented women I will be working with! I'm so excited to be given this chance, I can't wait to get started.

Chicken Soup makes everyone feel better....

well, everyone except the chicken of course! I made this cute card to cheer up a sick friend. I had seen a similar card on a blog, and thought what a great idea for a get well card. I went in search of cup of soup packets and found these Lipton soup ones they come 4 in a box for just under $2, and are the same size as hot cocoa packets. I made my card template myself, but if you have a template that holds a hot cocoa packet that will work too. My chicken is from whipper snapper, the saying I typed up on my computer. I think this would make a great group project. Get well cards are always good to have on hand.

The Cutest Bear

Don't you agree? I just think he is the cutest bear ever. He is from CC designs stamps. They have him in several stamp sets I have the "Bear Hugs" and the "Scenery Set."
On the first card I used SU paper and when I stamped the bear sitting I also stamped him on a post it note and cut him out, to make a mask. After I water colored him on the white circle, I used the mask to cover him and sponge blue ink for a sky effect. On the second card I also did masking with his feet so he is standing on the grass.

Life is like...

...a lot of things, but I think this kid quote stamp by Inkadinkado, is one of the funniest life quotes I've heard. I made this a simple card, because I think the quote should be the focal point. I used lime ricky patterned paper by Basic Grey.

Edward and my Twilight Tuesday Challenge

This is my Edward! I have read the Twilight books, listened to them on CD, own the first movie and music soundtrack. I am really excited about New Moon coming out, especially after seeing the trailer and the way Jacob turns into a wolf. What can I say, I am a Twihard!

I made this card for the Twilight Tuesday sketch/inspiration Challenge. I love, love, love their blog, it's one of the many blogs I stalk. Right now they are doing a special challenge with The Greeting Farm and if you enter you have a chance to win a Greeting Farm stamp set. So go on over to the Twilight Tuesday Blog and check it out.

Poppies

I love driving through California during wildflower season. The poppies stretch out for miles like a beautiful orange carpet. I saw this poppy stamp by stampendous and had to have it. I colored the image with my watercolor pencils and blender pen, then I applied spiced marmalade distress stickles to the flowers.

Butterfly Card

This is the card I put together for card club. I think everyone will enjoy putting it together. I used the new sizzix butterfly die from Stampin Up, an oval quickutz die for the body. I embossed the white paper with my Swiss dot Cuttlebug folder. The stamped saying is a clear $1 stamp.

Go Green!

I got this really cute set of go green stamps from Unity stamp Co. I actually copied this card right out of a card magi zine issue. I just really liked it! I did see where someone made a card with the earth stamp that said "you mean the world to me" so I think the set could still be pretty versatile. I found the twill in the trim section for sewing at Joann Fabrics, it came in 4 different colors and a lot cheaper by the yard then at the scrapbook store!

4th of July card & some Blog Candy

It's funny I have always loved 4th of July, but I don't really have many people to send a 4th of July card to, so I hardly make them. I found this C.C. designs set on sale at All that Scraps, it has 4 saying stamps and one other cute girl besides the sailor girl I used, so 6 stamps for $5.75. That's a great price for red rubber stamps. They have other cute stamps they are retiring also. I think I will use the Sailor girl and the "ahoy there" saying to make a set of cards for my best friend. Her father was in the navy for 33 years. He passed away a few years ago and as a tribute to him she had a tiny anchor tattooed on the top of her foot.

Here are some really cool blogs with chances to win their Blog Candy. Paper addict and a latte inkin fun.

Splish Splash

I am currently making cards from a list of cards I've wanted to try. The list is mostly stamps I have and haven't used, or colors I haven't tried and some are sketches. Some haven't made it to completion but some have worked out really well, like this one I put together today. I think he is soooo cute! I was trying to work with colors I wouldn't normally use. I think it could of used a layer of red between the white card base and the solid turquoise. Oh well live and learn.

With You....

...is my favorite place to be! This is the card I made for Braden to give to his daddy for Fathers Day. I'm always saying my hubby is like a polar bear, he's chubby and growls sometimes and he likes our house at a chilly 72 degrees! My mom and I turn it up during the day, but he knows even if it's a degree difference. lol That being shared.
Braden loves, loves, loves, his dad and when they are together it just makes me smile. Braden just can't get enough of his daddy. When daddy is home Braden is all over him.
I picked this stamp up last year at a stamp show with them in mind. I stamped the bears on some white card stock and outlined them with my gray marker to make them pop.

How the cluck are you?

I don't know if this has ever happened to you, but it happens to me constantly. I will see a card idea I like, then I will click a link to something else, and then something else, on and on and then, I can't find my way back! Well one day during my crazy Blog Hopping I came across these chicken cards. I thought they were so cute! I want to share this Blog, because I thought her Tuesday Challenges are way cool. Check it out.
I free hand cut the chicken base, and heart wing. I used a med primitive heart punch for the beak and comb, a small flower punch for eye, and a reg. hole punch for the pupil. Misc brown button with twine threaded through.

PS- I think "Happy Clucking Birthday" is pretty funny too!

Owl's it going?

I know owls are probably on the way out in some circles, but I still really like them! I was on a computer hunt yesterday for an owl pattern that I could use to make some paper ones. I admit I am just not very good at computer hunting. If anyone knows how I can just search for things in Blogs let me know. Well in my hunt I did come across the cutest owls this lady had made out of felt, and thought I could totally make those out of paper! These are just some of the ones I made. The saying is from TAC, and the paper is all scraps out of my scrap drawer.

Foxy and some Blog Candy!

Here is a simple card I made for card club. The fox is from imaginisce the twitterpated collection. I think he is so cute! I didn't have a good saying stamp so I left it blank and figured they could add whatever saying they would like.

Now for the blog candy. Go here to enter for a chance to win some blog candy. I found it by way of Heidi's blog. I just love looking at blogs there is so much creativity out there in the world!

Graduation

My oldest Daughter is Graduating from High school this week! I made her announcements, I ended up adding the oval class of 2009, after I took the picture of the example I made. I had some of the pretty argyle foil paper left over so I put together a card to go with her present.

Good Friends

My stamping friend Kristine always has the greatest card ideas, so for this card I cased one of hers. If you look closely, you can see the definitions for girdle, girl, girl-friday, girlfriend, girl scout, and girth, right on the dress form! How clever is that! I was thinking you could apply this to almost any shape, just pick your shape and find a good page out of the dictionary that works for that shape.

May the waves...

I cased this card from a stamping buddy, 5treasures, she makes the most wonderful cards. She used the seaside stamp set from Stampin up, and I used the seaside stamps from Crafty Secrets. This is one of my favorite sayings. It just makes me smile. I had a hard time taking a good picture, the sky sponging doesn't show up very well. I added stickles to the sand, and used the masking technique for the little girl.

Card Club at my house!

I belong to this wonderful group of stampers, we meet once a month at a different group members house where we do a monthly card swap, then we do a few projects that the host has come up with. Tonight I am the monthly host for my card club. I decided to keep it easy and did a spring card for one card and then a tile technique card for the other. I hope they enjoy both of them.

see ya later alligator

I have been trying really hard to use what I have on hand in my card making. I can't say I haven't spent any money on my addiction, but I can say it has been significantly less. For this card I used some ribbon that I got in a secret sister swap over a year ago, the alligator is from a Close to my Heart set I purchased well over a year ago, and never used. I used my cuttlebug tiny mosaic EF on the green paper. I have a beach set of stamps I have never used, and that is next on my list, but it looks like I will have to buy a lt. blue and a lt. brown stamp pad to make the card I want. Drats!

Thank you cards

I made a set of 8 of these Thank you cards for my oldest daughter for her Birthday. Her favorite color is green and she loves anything paisley. I used my paisley cuttlebug folder and the thank you stamp is from a hero art stamp set. I also embossed the flaps of the envelopes to go with the cards. My daughter is graduating from high school next month, so I thought these would come in handy.

Sweet Cupcake

A long time ago I found this tutorial to make these super cute cupcake cards. You should check out her Blog she has tons of different card ideas. I used scraps for the frosting and it had a white core so I sanded the pieces and inked the edges. I used my scor-pal on the cake part, to make it look like a cupcake liner. The bread tab is a quickutz die. The sweet saying stamp is from a Stampin' Up set. The finished size is 6 x 6.

Fab Friday Cuttlebug Challenge

I found this neat challenge board for using your cuttlebug. Here is their sketch for this Friday, I pulled out a stamp I got awhile back and put it to use. I used the tiny mosaic CB folder. I think this guy and the saying are so funny. I don't really have any one to send it too, but I'm sure I will someday.

Flower Pot Cards

I saw the cutest flower pot card on my friend Heidi's blog, she had found the directions on this blog.
This is my version of this really cute and easy card. I used some hydrangea type flowers for one pot and a sizzix die & cuttlebug dots folder for the other. I chalked, paper pierced, inked and only used supplies I had! Yeah! The paper I used for the pots already looked like marble, so that was an added bonus. I ended up making 26 of them in the end, some for one swap and the rest for my monthly card club. I left them blank inside I thought some might want to say different things and there is limited space. Best of all they fit in a A2 envelope!

Have a swingin' time

I know these Changito Monkeys have been around awhile but I just can't get enough of them. I got my first one from a secret sister, and have been hooked ever since. I used the mojo layout from 2 weeks ago for this card. If you haven't visited the Monday Mojo site yet, it is a must see! Every Monday, they have a different card sketch for you to try and they have a contest every so often, for prizes.

Gate Fold Card

I made this cute gate fold card awhile back, and thought I would share it. I paper pieced the umbrella and put pop-up dots under it for that 3-D effect. The polka dot paper is from doodlebug. The cute bug stamp is from C.C. designs stamps.

Altered Gum Tins

I have a ton of these empty gum containers from when I worked at Starbucks, they had thrown them away because they had expired! I promptly grabbed them up and knew they would be great altered. I made them awhile back, and just ran across pictures of them on my laptop, and thought I would share them with you. I actually have a ton of pictures on my laptop of cards and things I have made over the last few years. Since our move last year from a 2-story house to a 1-story, I haven't used the laptop as much since the nicer family computer is easier to access now, being everything is on the same floor. lol I think I will try and post some oldies but goodies in the next few weeks.

Use It Challenge!

Hello! So I decided to join in on the Use it Challenge this week. If you haven't heard about it yet, I have a link to the "Use It Blog" on my side bar you can click on. Basically, it is a challenge to use what you have on hand, which for me and probably everyone I know is a very good idea. lol This week the challenge was to use a tag and at least 3 flowers of any kind. Well I had that in my head for 2 days (tag, flowers, tag, flowers) then I ran across this random black tag, and I have a ton of these little bright colored primas, and then some scrap paper from my scrap drawer and this is what I got. So I was headed over to post it and was looking back over the directions, and wouldn't you know it, I was suppose to use spring colors too! Dang it! Well I was so fixed on tag, and flowers I didn't even realize it. I posted it anyways because I like the way it turned out and I only used stuff I already had so I am very proud of myself! lol

Thinking of you

It seems that I mostly make cards that have images that require a lot of coloring. So I was trying to jump out of my comfort zone and and use my cuttlebug and some dies and some flower punches. Well I think this took just as much time as the coloring does but I do love the results. The bird is from sizzix, swirl from quikutz, labels 1 from spellbinders, then the flowers are punches from paper shapers. I inked everything with a sponge and chocolate chip ink from stampin up. Thinking of you is from a Studio G set $1 stamps from Michaels. All PP is from heidi grace designs, Winnefred St. pack.
