Eat, Drink and Be Scary!

Hello, and welcome to my Friday post! Today I am sharing a card I made with the Kitty stamp from the Artful INKables set "Halloween Hauntings". I found a Champagne bottle card template online and changed it a little to resemble a wicked potion bottle. On Mr. Kitty, I used a green glitter pen for the eyes, and a pink glitter pen for the nose and ears. It gives him a little wicked sparkle.

Enjoy!

Since I'm the host, an awesome lady offered to take my name so I could play too. Let me just say I got the best Secret Sister evah!! lol I got my kit and finally had some time to put something together.

Now for something a little different..

In addition to paper crafts I sew too! I have been sewing since Home Economics in 8th grade, so roughly 25 years! lol I go through periods where I will sew a lot and then not at all. I don't do zippers! I like the easier sewing projects. I mostly enjoy crafty sewing, like quilts, pillows, purses etc. Like most of us with kids at home I don't have my own craft room, so when I sew I have to go get the sewing stuff from it's place in the garage and then set it all up at the kitchen table, then take it all back to the garage before dinner. You see my problem. lol I manage to keep my paper crafting right around the computer table area, so you can see where my priorities are. lol
What I wanted to share today was something I made last week, for a friend who just had a baby. It's called a "Taggie Blanket." It's a cute little blanket with ribbon loops sewn into the seam. My son still loves his, although he looks unhappy holding the girly one I made. lol He is actually saying cheese and looking away from the camera, across the street at the neighbor kids running around. Probably thinking I hope they don't see me over here. lol
For the taggie blankets I make I use snuggle flannel, satin and grosgrain ribbon so there are different textures. All machine washable which for children is a must. The size of this blanket is roughly 18x20. I googled taggie blankets and found a lot of tutorials out there. Most of the ones I found for sale were generally a little smaller then the one I made and with a lot less ribbons on the sides. I made mine without a pattern, I just kind of guessed. If you have ever sewn homemade pillows then it's much the same way just add in the loops when you sew up the seams.
Happy Crafting!

It's "Think Ink" Challenge Time!

It's time for another "Think INK" challenge over at the Artful INKables Blog! This time the 2 week challenge is a recipe challenge.

The Recipe: 1)You must use layers. 2)Use different ribbons. 3)Use scallops of some kind.

I decided with the holiday around the corner it would be a good idea to get a jump on things, so I made this combo Christmas tree ornament/gift card holder. I used my scallop rectangle nestabilities and my scallop circle paper punches. For my image I used the present stamp from the new AI stamp set "Treats and Tails."

Make sure to head over to the Artful INKables Blog and put in an entry, you will have a chance to win some free stamps!!

"you mean the world to me"

Hello! Today I want to share with you a card I made using the Artful INKables set "Fun and Friendly". I used "My Minds Eye" paper and some graph paper I snagged from my daughter. I colored the earth with my water color pencils and cut it out and used some pop dots to make it pop up. The twill is from the fabric notion side of Joann's. Enjoy!

A Witchy Boo!

I wanted to share this simple card with you. I punched a hole out of copy paper and used it as a reverse mask for the moon. I sponged with sunflower and raw sienna ink, my friend Pat called it a perfect harvest moon. The witch is from inadinkado and the Boo is from TAC. I used my glitter pen and colored in some of the witches trailings. I made these for my monthly card club. After I took this picture I ended up adding a sheer black ribbon at the top, with the knot to the left.
Enjoy!

Boo!

Hello! Isn't this little girl so Adams family? To me she appears to be playing yo-yo with a spider! I made this card for my 5 a month card swap, hosted by my friend Deb on inspireswapchat.com.

It's hard to photograph, but I used Spica glitter pens for her socks and on the spider. I cut her head out and popped it up to give her some dimension. I cut the words out with my cuttlebug hippie chick dies.
Enjoy!

Muchas Gracias

Hi! Today I want to share another card I made with the Artful INKables set "South of the Border". I did the masking technique with the cactus stamp on this card, to make the cactus taller. When I was little my great grandmother had a gorgeous backyard, filled with fruit trees, vegetables, flowers of every kind and cacti. My favorite was her 15 foot cactus! It bloomed and grew for years and then sadly froze one winter and died. Their was just something so impressive about the massive cacti, it was both beautiful and scary all at once.

Also, today is Think Ink Tuesday! Hooray! You know what that means, a new challenge is staring today over at the Artful INkables Blog. The challenge is always different, and their will be a prize! So go check it out. You can check back this Friday for my challenge piece.
